Biography

Dr. Castelli is a board certified pediatrician who has been practicing in northern California for over 15 years in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. He graduated cum laude at Duke University and AOA honor society at Ohio State Medical School before his residency in pediatrics at Stanford. He joined Discover Health in August of 2016.

While Dr. Castelli brings with him to Discover Health the knowledge and skills obtained practicing in high intensity inpatient pediatric critical care settings, he also draws from his real-life, day-to-day experiences of being a father of two young daughters. He credits this experience as a working father with helping him practice “real-world” pediatrics- making decisions that are not only evidence-based, but also practical and pragmatic, taking into account the child in the context of the family unit, and the family unit in the larger societal structure.

And though there are endless benefits to the practice model at Discover Health for both patient and doctor, one thing Dr. Castelli consistently comes back to is that the tight and rapid communication with patients in our model affords him the ability to “safely do less” to intervene when managing a child.

Biography

Dr. Natasha Agbai is a board-certified pediatrician who helps families optimize their child’s health through highly engaged care. Her interest in medicine started in early childhood. She was born with a common heart defect and created a bond with an amazing pediatric cardiologist who inspired her to treat patients with integrity, love, and respect.

She completed her medical training at UCLA School of Medicine, graduating with honors, followed by a pediatric residency at Stanford Children’s Hospital.

After completing residency, she spent over a decade at Palo Alto Medical Foundation. She earned a reputation as a keen diagnostician by picking up rare diagnoses early.  Her diagnostic skills also were noticed by the American Board of Pediatrics who selected her to help develop the pediatrics board exams. In practice, she enjoyed watching patients grow from infants to young adults and developed several niches of care including newborns, complex pediatrics, and LGBTQ patients and families.

Dr. Agbai pursued additional training in the field of nutrition including whole food nutrition.. She became a diplomat of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, and created an online nutrition improvement program for kids  She also created a successful pediatric weight management clinic which she brings to Discover Health. Many parents report that even their own nutrition improves after a visit with Dr. Agbai.

As a mother of two, the humbling practice of breastfeeding turned her into a fierce advocate for early lactation help and she can offer practical tips and tricks to support you. Bringing her first son home from the hospital brought along months of waking up at night to make sure her baby was still breathing. She realized that the fear of SIDS keeps many parents up at night. In response, she created SIDSRisk.org, a SIDS prevention resource for parents and caregivers wishing to practice safer sleep habits so that everyone can sleep a little easier. When not caring for patients, you might find her trying to keep up with her two young boys, joining her husband in rooting for Stanford, or at Barry’s Bootcamp.

Dr. Agbai looks forward to seeing her patients in and around the bay area.  Everytime I see a newborn on my schedule, I smile with a thought: Let’s see a healthy baby, with the brightest future: maybe a Nobel prize winner, a scientist, a teacher, or whatever she/he/they want to be!
